Director
Mike brings five decades of experience in the building and civil engineering as well as the development field. He has a strong contracting pedigree gained from growing, managing and retaining ownership in multiple highly reputable contracting businesses; commencing with the founding of Clearwater Construction in 1985, and subsequently managing D&H Steel, Affordable Scaffolding, Composite Profiles steel decking, and Revex piling.
Mike’s leadership across these specialist companies enables Countrywide projects to yield the benefit of efficiencies and cost-cutting through team familiarity and continuity. Mike’s contracting and development experience spans all industry classes; including industrial, commercial, hotels, medical and over 1,000 residential apartments.
Mikes entrepreneurial flair, strong financial acumen, belief and support of his staff, and commitment to continuous improvement have enhanced Countrywide’s ability to deliver an impressive record of projects across multi-industry classes. His relationships across the sector have also helped to position it with a solid future pipeline of projects.

Managing Director
Darren has amassed a wealth of project delivery knowledge and experience throughout a 24-year career with Australasia’s largest Real Estate Investment Trust - Westfield/Scentre Group. This experience across 3 countries, with involvement in over $8bn of projects, has enabled Darren to develop influential management, planning, financial and organisational skills.
For the last 15 years Darren held the role of construction general manager, responsible for the preconstruction & delivery phases of all Westfield/Scentre group’s major projects across NZ & Australia. One of Darren’s last Westfield projects included the $790M Westfield Newmarket project in Auckland.
In 2021 Darren, his wife and 3 children relocated back to NZ to reside in Tauranga. Having known Mike Sullivan for over 20 years, Darren joined Mike to expand Countrywide Properties into a multi-disciplinary development business spanning five industry classes.

Asset and Development Manager
Lloyd is a skilled property professional with over 13 years of experience in the property industry and a Bachelor of Commerce in Valuation and Property Management from Lincoln University. He brings broad expertise across diverse asset classes, including office, industrial, and large format retail.
Lloyd’s career has included roles in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, where he managed assets on behalf of high-net-worth individuals. Prior to joining Countrywide, he held a senior asset management role overseeing a mixed-use portfolio comprising of 19 assets from Hamilton to Whangārei, valued at approximately $260 million and tenanted by around 50 occupiers.

Estimator
Owen is a respected estimator and quantity surveyor experienced in design-build construction projects. He offers a thorough understanding of project budgets, cost control and management, financial reporting, and variation management. Owen has a strong sense of the subcontractor market, costs of goods and services and resource productivity, allowing him to see and take the whole project life cycle into account.

Sales & Marketing
Caitlin moved into property sales in 2021 after working as a nurse for 12 years. This experience, as well as completing a Masters degree in nursing leadership and management, has seen Caitlin develop communication and people skills that greatly assist in working with clients, sales and marketing partners, and project collaborators. She is driven by the reward of seeing buyers’ fulfilment in their new properties, and enjoys working with them throughout the building process.
